Hope Ignites is book #2 in Jaci Burton's Hope series. While it's probably not necessary to read book #1 first, I enjoyed this more having read the preceding book, since the characters from that story reappear. (Logan, the hero of Hope Ignites, is the brother of Luke from book #1). I'm a big fan of Burton's Play by Play sports series. While the Hope series is quite different in tone, it's just as enjoyable.

Logan is a rancher who has agreed to let a film crew shoot on his property. Logan is a low-key kind of guy who keeps to himself for the most part, focusing on his work. When he meets Desiree, star of the movie that's shooting, he's attracted to her but he doesn't make his feelings known. At first, Des takes Logan's quiet nature as a sign that he's not interested in her, but she's definitely attracted to him. She pursues and flirts with him every chance she gets and eventually, Logan admits that the interest is mutual.

Normally, I don't like movie star heroes or heroines much, but Des is so down-to-earth that I liked her character a lot. Even though she's famous, she's very grounded and hasn't let fame go to her head.

Des's costar, Colt, is her best friend and is currently in the closet. Des has been bearding for him for a while, but encourages him to live his life openly once he's ready. I really liked the camaraderie between Des and Colt.

It took me some time to warm up to Logan, simply because he can be such a grump. It's kind of charming at first, but then I felt frustrated toward him on Des's behalf. It turns out that Logan has a lot of trust issues due to the fact that his mother abandoned the family, so it's understandable that he's not so keen on giving his heart to Des. Also, he questions whether they can reconcile their highly divergent lives in order to be together, which is definitely a valid concern. As Logan learns to let down his guard and allow himself to trust Des, it becomes clear what a great guy he is.

Des and Logan are incredibly different: he's a small-town cowboy and she's a Hollywood star on the rise. Initially, neither of them expects anything lasting to result from their fling. But pretty soon, both Des and Logan realize that they're falling for each other hard. Can they make things work after the movie wraps? Do they have a future? Burton does a great job combining the cozy, small-town atmosphere with some pretty hot scenes between Des and Logan. It's a combination that worked for me.

In addition to Des and Logan, I enjoyed the supporting characters who live in Hope and who will be appearing in future books. I'm looking forward to continuing the series and I recommend Hope Ignites.

This is the second in the Hope Trilogy. It is about Logan and Desiree's story. Logan is a loner and doesn't want to have a serious relationship that is until he meets Desiree, the actress playing a role in a movie on the land that Logan leases to the movie company. The story is rich in romance and desires but also stubbornness and acceptance. Logan's character is fun to watch develop from an ornery young, stubborn man, blossoming into a handsome cowboy. He just has to realize that what his Mother did to his Dad, doesn't necessarily mean it will happen to him. I recommend this book, can't wait until the third one comes out.
Can a headstrong, straight-talkin’ actress fall for an extremely jaded, gruff cowboy and live happily ever after?

I don’t want to write a long review because I want the reader to discover the mystery behind the strong, silent Logan McCormack. Des is his perfect match and I think that’s what bothers Logan the most. He definitely doesn’t make it easy for Des to love him, but it sure is one hell of a ride.

I really love this book and the series. The characters are easily relatable, the story lines are always entertaining and the love stories are always hard-won victories. I also loved the secondary characters and hope to see them all in future books. Another brilliant read from Jaci Burton

Logan is not the crabby rancher I thought he was going to be, although he really isn't a "people person". Even though he has given a film company permission to film on his ranch, he has no interest in meeting any of the actors or watch any of the filming. Thank
goodness his housekeeper has other ideas.

Desiree is an actress and plays the main female character in this movie. She loves the ranch and makes quite an impression on
Logan (much to his chagrin) and his housekeeper. She invites them to the movie set, first to watch them shoot a scene and then
another time to be made up as characters in the movie.

Logan can't imagine how Desiree would fit into life on a ranch, but she is not shy about letting him know that it would work. She
invites him to the red carpet premier of the film, even though she doesn't think he will come.

I really like this story, and I like the fact that Emma and Luke (Logan's brother) are included in this book. I liked "Hope Ignites" so
much that I re-read "Hope Flames" (Emma and Luke's story).
I so love Jaci Burton novels and this was a super hit with me. Although I enjoyed Hope Flames I thought this one was sexier, funnier, and had a little more romance and sex, along with drama and laughter. With Hope Fkames I felt it took a little too long to take off and the characters were a little too normal a little bland for my liking. Luke and Emma were destined for each other but I didn't feel a spark. But with Logan and Des - ya there was definite heat and sparks a mutual attraction I got into. If you haven't read Hope Flames don't worry about the back story it's covered sufficiently enough with this book and actually is more interesting without all the downtime of a compete novel about two characters too afraid of getting on with the romance!
You'll love Logan and Des, and here own "LA" friends and you'll fall in love with their romance too! I pulled for the characters and I really hoped they would have a HEA! Jaci Burton fans will love the book as I did. My star rating is 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 x a million, I couldn't put it down for more than a hour at a time. Enjoy the love!
